Summary

Bill entitled an Act to restate and modify certain aspects of the law relating to the entry into, presence in and removal from the State of certain foreign nationals and others, including foreign nationals in need of protection from the risk of serious harm or persecution elsewhere, to give effect to Council Directive 2001/55/EC of 20 July 2001 on minimum standards for giving temporary protection in the event of a mass influx of displaced persons and on measures promoting a balance of efforts between member states in receiving such persons, to give effect to Council Directive 2005/85/EC of 1 December 2005 on minimum standards on procedures in member states for granting and withdrawing refugee status, and to provide for related matters, including victims of human trafficking, while having regard also to the power of the executive in relation to the above matters
