103. Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the extent to which the guidelines he and the Central Bank of Ireland have laid down in relation to distressed mortgages continue to be followed to the letter by the various lending institutions, with particular reference to the need to accommodate those who have continued to make payments within their capacity or who have made reasonable offers which have not been accepted by the lending institutions, particularly where the lending and the borrowing were unsustainable in the first instance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
