96 Deputy Michael Healy-Rae asked the Minister for Finance in view of the Irish mortgage crisis and the amount of persons who find themselves in a desperate situation, should a transparent and completely independent entity be put in place to ensure that the resolution process will not involve persons trying to profiteer on the misfortunes of persons in debt, that is, there should be a non-profit sector assisting persons who have such financial difficulties with their mortgages at present and there should be a strengthened financial services ombudsperson to help in this crisis; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
