Deputy Sandra McLellan asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the fact that all pensioners between 66 and 70 years of age on State pensions are over the income level to be eligible for a medical card as the threshold is €201 per week, he will consider introducing a waiver for hospital visits and overnight stays which cost €75 per day for those who have already paid out €144 per month for their medications.
