101 Deputy Alan Shatter asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of reports received by the Health Service Executive in 2006 and separately in 2007 relating to child abuse or neglect; the number of children in respect of whom such reports were received within each area of the Health Service Executive’s administration in respect of each year; the number of such reports fully investigated to date and the number of such reports awaiting investigation; and the average time delay in respect of each year within each area administered by the HSE between the receipt of any such report and a visit by a HSE social worker or other professional personnel to commence investigating or assessing the risk, posed to the children concerned.
