Deputy Sandra McLellan asked the Minister for Social Protection with regards to mortgage interest supplement and the new legislation which was introduced in 2012 stating that in order to qualify for mortgage interest supplement that a person must be in negotiations with their banks for 12 months prior to applying, if this affects persons who were already in receipt of MIS prior to this legislation being introduced; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
