Deputy Mary Lou McDonald asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform if he will provide details of the National Procurement Service provision for ensuring all contractors awarded public projects under its remit have discharged all obligations to employees and former employees when a decision of an industrial relations forum, that is, the EAT, LRC, Labour Court, awards compensation under statutory employment law, or when a failure to do so is brought to its attention; and the procedures for ensuring these awards are discharged in full and where, in respect of payments made by the Social Insurance Fund in regard to redundancy entitlement where the contractor has failed to discharge that obligation, the procedures to ensure that contractors are not awarded public contracts until that fund is reimbursed by the contractor.
