Deputy Michael McGrath asked the Minister for Finance the details of the Revenue Commissioners investigation into claims that many pensioners who bought an annuity with a fixed cost of living increase or escalator have not been paid the pension amount they are entitled to; if the investigation will deal with claims that insurers and pension providers may have held funds in reserve and not paid them out on the death of the pensioner; the number and value of pensions potentially involved in the probe; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
