117 Deputy Bernard J. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Skills if, in view of the network of gaelscoileanna throughout County Kildare and the lack of second level educational facilities in the region, he will consider making provision for Gaelcholaiste Chill Dara in line with the views expressed by the boards of management of the existing primary gaelscoileanna; if he will engage with Kildare Vocational Education Committee with a view to identification of the most appropriate method to achieve this objective either through incorporation with the proposed new post-primary school at Maynooth or at an alternative location either of which would provide a valuable continuation at second level of the existing primary education in the area as provided through the gaelscoileanna; if he will have regard for the strong body of local opinion and support for such a proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
