Deputy Seán Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Skills the details of the announcement he made on 3 October 2017 in relation to the entry requirements into primary teacher training programmes; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this can disadvantage students who sat the leaving certificate in 2017 and are now on undergraduate degree courses in the four teacher training colleges in view of the fact that they will have to resit some leaving certificate examinations in order to apply for a master's degree in three years time; if the case of a student (details supplied) which has brought to the attention of his Department will be examined; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
