177 Mr. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children if she has received a report from local health authorities on the average delay for a parent wishing to undertake an adoption overseas; if she will consider contracting out this work under health board supervision in order that it may be completed without having to absorb the time of child care workers within the public health service in the same way as legal authorisations have been completed under contract for other public agencies; and if she will make a statement on her Department’s immediate plans to deal with this problem.
