Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage if his attention has been drawn to the fact that when the rent freeze ceases on 13 July 2021 those landlords of properties in rent pressure zones which have not raised rent since July 2019 will be legally allowed to impose an 8% rent rise; and if he plans to introduce legislation to prevent this from occurring.
