1284 Deputy Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will take steps to ensure tasers which have been available to the gardaí since September 2007 are withdrawn in view of the death of a Polish man who did not speak any English and was killed by a taser in an airport in Canada in December 2007, the death of a man in England in January 2008 having been hit by a taser and research undertaken by Amnesty International in north America which has shown 250 people have died after being shot by tasers.
