Durkan asked the Minister for Transport the reason it has not been found possible to extend the bus service from Naas to Blanchardstown to cater for outpatients attending Blanchardstown Hospital, notwithstanding the numerous occasions on which it has been raised, and given that patients have to travel by car, park at a parking meter, occupy space and top up the meter as required in the event of a long wait; if urgent steps can be taken to examine the feasibility of such an extension, having particular regard to the policy to limit the number of cars in the city on a daily basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
