Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the circumstances in which a discretionary travel pass can be granted to persons who were in receipt of disability allowance due to the fact they were blind and registered with the National Council for the Blind but have taken up employment and consequently lose their disability allowance and also lose their travel pass and in circumstances in which they will rely on public transport for the rest for their lives, including getting to and from work; if there are provisions whereby a travel pass can be granted in these situations; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
