Deputy Mick Barry asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth if his Department has a policy of offering alternative accommodation to those who have a right to reside in the State after having been through the international protection process but are still living in the direct provision system that is far from their current residence (details supplied); if he will ensure that offers of alternative accommodation to those cohorts are in the locality of the direct provision centre; if he will ensure that a refusal of accommodation in an area that is far from their current residence will not result in the loss of access to homeless services; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
