Deputy Ryan O'Meara asked the Minister for Transport if he will outline the steps being considered to streamline the current large public service vehicle inspection process, to eliminate duplication between Garda PSV inspections and the commercial vehicle roadworthiness test (CVRT); and whether his Department intends to move toward a simplified licensing model that recognises EU whole vehicle type approval and the annual CVRT as the primary safety mechanisms; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
