Deputy John Lahart asked the Minister for Education and Youth the basis on which the recent SNA review determination was made in respect of a school (details supplied); if she will address the serious concerns raised regarding the credibility, transparency and integrity of the SNA review process in this case, given that the initial decision to reduce the school’s SNA allocation was only reversed after it was pointed out that the review had proceeded without the full documentation; the measures being taken to ensure that special schools are not placed in unsafe positions by being required to manage pupils with complex medical needs, including type 1 diabetes and epilepsy, without access to appropriate nursing or clinical support, pending the provision of such supports; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
