Deputy Lucinda Creighton asked the Minister for Justice and Equality further to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 27 and 37 of 1 December 2011 and in reply to which he stated that work on a regulatory impact assessment, RIA, for the legislation is near completion and that it will be made available in the near future, the reason it took a full two years for him to publish the regulatory impact assessment relating to the Legal Services Regulation Bill; his views on whether best practice provides that an RIA should be carried out before any decisions are taken regarding regulatory changes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
