Broughan asked the Minister for Finance the estimated cost to the Exchequer of increasing the standard rate cut-off point for pay as you earn, PAYE, to €36,000 for a single person, €45,000 for a married couple or civil partners with one income, €70,000 for a married couple or civil partners, and €45,000 for a one parent family given that the current rate is significantly lower than a two adult household with one income and no other adult to assist with childcare duties; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
