Deputy Lucinda Creighton asked the Minister for Justice and Equality the reason there was no analysis of multidisciplinary practices, MDPs, in the regulatory impact assessment, RIA, relating to the Legal Services Regulation Bill; his views that in advance of attempting to introduce multidisciplinary practices it would be preferable to make the new regulator to investigate whether or not multidisciplinary practices should be permitted and allow it to review the experience in those countries which have permitted MDPs and to consider examples of countries that have chosen not to go this route and the reasons they have done so; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
