Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Finance if a borrower with a well-performing mortgage at a financial institution in special liquidation may offer to buy out this mortgage if it is offered for sale by the liquidator; if such sales are at the sole discretion of the liquidator or if there are particular procedures in place to assist the borrower in such situations; if he will indicate the full rights of the borrower in respect of same; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
