Deputy Chris Andrews asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if clarity could be given on travelling from Ireland to the Schengen area on an Irish passport with less than three months' validity, as his Department’s website advises travel is valid right up until the date of expiration, but numerous Schengen member states outline on their own travel websites that there must be a minimum of three months validity left on a non-Schengen passport that is, an Irish passport from the date of departure of the Schengen country in order to enter the country legally.
