Deputy Catherine Connolly asked the Minister for Finance the impact assessment his Department has undertaken of the recent changes to the help-to-buy scheme which extends the scheme to end 2021 and allows new buyers to claim up to €30,000 under the scheme, particularly in view of research by the ESRI which predicts that these changes are likely to push up house prices; the engagement he has had with the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
