Deputy Mick Wallace asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine his views regarding the growing infant formula industry here and the effects of the promotion of a largely unnecessary product on breastfeeding rates and children's health around the world, in view of the fact that the global percentage of mothers that are unable to produce enough milk is between 1 to 5%; his further views on the fact that the production of formula contributes to high agricultural emissions rates here; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
