Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the criteria his Department utilises to anticipate and prepare for future human resource trends in the public service, including how the need to respond to imbalances in staffing resources per capita across geographical regions is measured and how these data are incorporated into policy; what he considers to be, based on available data projections for demographical trends, the most pressing concerns to the ability of the public service, including in particular local government; if he will provide an effective and generally equal service for all citizens in the State; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
