PQ 166
166. Deputy Margaret Murphy O'Mahony asked the Minister for Health if with regard to the HSE’s implementation of the standard operating procedure for the assessment of need he is of the view that to make a decision on whether a child may require further diagnostic assessment, for example, for ASD, based on one clinic visit without seeing the child in other settings and environments is not in line with good practice and could also lead to incorrect indicative diagnosis, delays in appropriate intervention and increased distress and frustration for children and their families.
