Deputy Seán Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Skills if he will sanction and fund a new school secretary for a school (details supplied) in view of the fact that one of the existing secretaries is retiring; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this is an amalgamated school based in two campuses which traditionally has two school secretaries; if his attention has been further drawn to the fact that parents have expressed concerns regarding the health and safety of their children on the grounds that there will not now be a staff member at the reception in one of the campuses; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
