Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the extent to which it will be permissible for local authorities to meet the ever increasing responsibility of the housing needs of families who find themselves homeless due to increased rent levels or re-possession/sale of the property; if he is satisfied that adequate provision will be made to meet this requirement, in view of the likelihood of a dramatically increased demand; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
