172 Mr. Eamon Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if the Government will be formally responding to the request from the ad hoc working group within the United Nations framework for climate change for annex 1 parties to the Kyoto Protocol to present by 23 February 2007 details of the mitigation potential, effectiveness, efficiency, costs and benefits of current and future climate change policies here; the process the Government will follow in determining the mitigation potential that Ireland will set; and if there will be opportunity for public consultation with regard to such long-term plans.
