170 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if his attention has been drawn to the remarkable efforts of groups (details supplied) in County Galway to provide excellent sports and recreational facilities for their area years before most other communities got involved in this whole area; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that there is an urgent need for a root and branch modernisation of this existing facility to bring it up to present day standards; if he will give every consideration to a sizeable grant to give effect to these ambitious plans; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
