172 Deputy Ciarán Lynch asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if he will recognise that the needs of cultural cinema require State support, in particular, the case of a cinema (details supplied) in Cork city; if he will become involved in the matter; if he will meet with the various interests both public and private to determine the action to save the cinema; the funding and support that might be available or freed up by him in these circumstances with regard to dealing with the cinema’s immediate difficulties and putting a sustainable business plan in place, for example, the creation of a public private partnership; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
