Deputy Colm Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine when the appropriate assessment against pre-determined conservation objectives will take place within Galway Bay, Kinvara Bay, and Clarinbridge Bay, as such assessments are needed in order that additional oyster licences may be granted in view of the fact that these bays have been designated as special areas of conservation; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there is enormous potential in this industry for export and value-added production; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
