Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Finance the effect the recent arrangement regarding the re-structuring of the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation debt and its conversion into long term debt will have on the need to reduce the general Government balance from 2018 in line with the Fiscal Compact Treaty; the extra amount, if any, this arrangement will require to be paid off the general Government debt each year up to 2053; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
