PQ 178
178. Deputy Eoghan Murphy asked the Minister for Finance if his Department conducts modelling to forecast the way potential increases in a person's disposable income might be distributed within the economy in the present climate; for example if €4 billion was to be realised in the wider economy by way of abolition of the USC, the way this might impact upon the economy in terms of the percentage going into savings, debt repayments, the purchase of goods and services and so on; and the way this might translate in terms of additional VAT receipts, greater activity in the domestic economy and job creation in small and medium enterprises.
