17 Mr. Gogarty asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the analysis her Department has undertaken on the possible implications for industry here of the introduction of a carbon tax; if her attention has been drawn to a World Bank investigation (details supplied) of 103 cases of the introduction of such taxes, which showed that in 73% of cases there was a positive influence on employment, in 24% of cases a negative influence and in 3% no influence; and her views on the matter.
