186 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if his attention has been drawn to the number of applications for a work permit by a company (details supplied) to employ an individual who is legally resident here on a student visa, that this permit application has been repeatedly refused on the grounds that it is not permitted to transfer from a student visa to a work permit, which is in violation of his Departments policy as stated at his Department’s website and that the most recent application for a work permit pointed this out, but was ignored; and if he will, as a matter of urgency, approve the application for this person who has been waiting over five months for a work permit and whose employer is eager for them to take up employment.
