191 Deputy John McGuinness asked the Minister for Health the arrangements that have been put in place to pay lump sums and pensions to staff that retired from the Health Service Executive in February 2012; if payments due to those that retired have been paid; the reason some nursing staff that retired have been told by the HSE that each will be paid €5,000 from their lump sum in spite of the fact that some staff have indicated they want their lump sum untouched and paid in full; if the HSE has the funds to pay the commitments in this regard in full; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
