19 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he will grant a minimum rate of unemployment assistance to all young people over 18 years, irrespective of their family financial circumstances, in view of the fact that a large number of young people in the 18 to 21 year age bracket leave the family home and thereby qualify for the full rate of unemployment assistance from his Department and a rent allowance from the health board and, some of them might remain living at home if the minimum rate of unemployment assistance was available to them.
