248 Deputy Finian McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if independent adoption is included in the Adoption Bill in view of the fact that there are a number of Irish citizens who have adopted children independently from countries that are signatories to the Hague Convention instead of from the State institutions of those countries; and if she will give recognition to these adoptions to allow these children to be afforded equal rights to children who have been adopted from State institutions of the international adoptive countries.
