PQ 193

193 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the section of the Shannon from Plassey to Thomond Bridge, that is covered by the ban on fishing, especially the part at the long shore, is fished by local people many of them young and from the neighbouring estates of Moyross, Ballynanty, Kileely, Thomondgate and St. Mary’s Park, all of which are in areas covered by the Government’s rapid programme, and that this will aggravate the situation where there are very few leisure and sports facilities.
