Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Finance in respect of the mortgage arrears resolution process where offers are made by the lending institution regarding the sustainability or affordability of a mortgage, if this relates only to the original mortgage and if it includes a calculation to cover the repayment of any arrears on the account or are these arrears deferred to the end of the mortgage; if these offers take account of the full amount owed to the institution to include the balance on the mortgage account and outstanding arrears on the account; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
