Deputy Gabrielle McFadden asked the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation in view of the fact that the Firearms (Proofing) Act 1968 was introduced by the then Department of Industry and Commerce to set up a proof house, specifically for shotguns manufactured by an indigenous firearms company, if consideration will be given to setting up such a facility, if a suitable business proposal were submitted to his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
