Deputy Paul Kehoe asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the Revenue Commissioners are adopting a position when dealing with self employed people who are due a tax refund and farmers who are claiming VAT back on capital expenditure, whereby they deduct the property tax from this repayment, even though the individuals had already signed up to a payment instruction to pay by monthly instalments on direct debit (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter.
