Deputy Sorca Clarke asked the Minister for Education given the findings of the recent INTO, IPPN and CPSMA survey that clearly indicates the negative impact that the teacher shortage is having on special education provision and which highlights the urgent need for more SNAs in our system, why the new level 6 programme for SNAs provides little to no professional incentives for SNAs to undertake this course; and her plans to make it a more desirable course for SNAs and to make sure that SNAs are rewarded fairly and equally for the hours they put in to this much needed programme.
