Murphy asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of incidents of burglary and car theft in towns (details supplied) which have been reported to the Garda Síochána each year since 1999; the number of these crimes which have resulted in the apprehension and subsequent prosecution of offenders; if he has satisfied himself that sufficient resources have been made available to the Garda Síochána in order to effectively police the towns concerned; if crimes of this nature will be investigated; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
