Durkan asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the extent to which arrangements can be made for families currently living on the Grand Canal in County Kildare, who have been informed that the annual fee payable to Waterways Ireland is being dramatically increased, thereby forcing them to seek alternative housing accommodation, which is not readily available; if arrangements can be made as soon as possible for those currently so disadvantaged by this proposal with a view to ensuring that they are being catered for in an understanding way; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
