Deputy Tom Fleming asked the Minister for Finance if he will examine the plea on behalf of frontline staff (details supplied) regarding the Mercer Report; his views on whether these workers are being discriminated against in contrast to persons such as the CEO, Bank of Ireland and other senior bank executives in State-supported institutions who are on huge salaries, bonuses, pensions and so on, in some cases up to €1 million; if he will clarify that his intention is not to penalise frontline staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
