PQ 210
210. Deputy Brendan Smith asked the Minister for Finance if he will give urgent consideration to the issues raised in correspondence in relation to carbon tax on solid fuel products (details supplied); if his attention has been drawn to the serious concerns in this sector, particularly in the Border area as trade has been severely affected over the past year, taking in to account that there is no carbon tax on solid fuel in Northern Ireland and also a lower rate of VAT and that this is creating a very difficult trading environment for the solid fuel sector; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
