Deputy Maureen O'Sullivan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Social Protection to set out her views on the risk and if she will acknowledge the challenge in moving from unemployment to self-employment by considering an arrangement where self-employed persons contributing to social insurance fund at class S would be entitled to one jobseeker’s benefit claim, in other words, on the same basis as for class A contributors, but extending to no more than 15 months over the course of their career in self-employment; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
